The Summit

The Summit, located at the south end of Reno where highways 395 and 431 (Mt. Rose Highway) intersect, is an open-air, lifestyle shopping center with more than 70 shops, specialy retailers, salons and restaurants to satisfy any palate. Its many courtyards feature fountains, paths and fire pits to gather around on cool evenings, and seasonal features such as live music during summer evenings, and sleigh rides on wintry days. The Summit offers a wide variety of shopping and dining that will please even the most demanding patron.

Meadowood Mall

Meadowood Mall, a longtime Reno favorite, is located city center and attracts over 6 million tourists who visit the region annually. Shoppers will be delighted with more than 100 stores, specialty retailers, salons and restaurants to explore in a conveniently located indoor environment.

Cabela's

Cabela's stores are known as premier shopping and tourism destinations, drawing visitors from hundreds of miles to indulge in a unique shopping experience that celebrates nature and the lifestyle of the outdoor enthusiast.

Reno's 125,000-square-foot, large-format destination store is located near the Boomtown Hotel Casino on I-80 near theCalifornia border (8650 Boomtown Road, Verdi, Nev.). Extraordinary in design and showcasing thousands of products from its world-famous catalog and Web site, a customer's average stay at a Cabela's store has been estimated at a remarkable 3½ hours. Cabela's Reno store hours are Monday - Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.on Sunday.

Truckee River Arts District

Located in close proximity to Reno's Truckee River Whitewater Park is the Truckee River Arts District. Plan to visit both the CalAve and Riverwalk sections of the district for unique shopping excursions to specialty shops, antique stores, boutiques, galleries and unique culinary attractions. This area is quickly becoming Reno's pre-eminent neighborhood retail, restaurant, entertainment and business district. No big box stores here in this newest, hippest section of Reno.

Grab a Bite Before You Max Out

Your shopper's high won't keep you going forever and hard as it might be to tear yourself away from your favorite activity, at some point you're bound to require some local sustenance. The downtown has many tastes and flavors that will please your palate and satisfy your appetite. Even if you're just thirsty, the Reno Downtown area is the best place to grab a drink and watch the world pass you by. Here's a sample, but by no means all.

Patagonia Outlet Store

Nature lovers know the Patagonia company for quality clothing and gear, and a socially conscious business model. Reno is home to Patagonia's main distribution center as well as a Patagonia outlet store where shoppers can find deals on everything from fishing waders to skiing jackets. Another point of interest: the 171,000-square-foot building received Gold Level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Reno has numerous shopping areas with upscale boutiques and specialty stores tucked into quaint neighborhoods throughout the city . Two exceptional stops for any Reno shopping mission are Plumgate, located at W. Plumb Lane and S. Arlington Ave and Mayberry Landing, located at 3886 Mayberry Drive.

Coming Soon ...

By April 2009, construction will be completed on a new downtown Reno retail venue adjacent to the river that will incorporate an open-air shopping district with the excitement of Triple A Minor League Baseball. The development will boast a world-class baseball stadium, retail and restaurants to create another pedestrian-friendly attraction in the heart of the city.

In Sparks, the Legends at Sparks Marina will open in full by the end of 2008, with dozens of shops, restaurants and an IMAX movie theater. The center is anchored by the 245,000-square-foot Scheels All Sports store. When finished, Scheels will be the largest sporting goods store in the world.
